American Gods Ricky Whittle Signs With WME
Just over a week after the Starz series based on Neil Gaimans acclaimed 2001 novel kicked off work on its second season, Whittle has cleaned the decks with his now past reps at Talentworks and managers Untitled Entertainment. Throwing in his lot with the Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell run uber-agency, Whittles new WME team includes a team of heavyweight agents moving forward.
Additionally, I hear that the ex-The 100 actor will not be replacing his management with new representation. Also Whittle continues to be represented by attorney Lev Ginsburg and his UK agency Denton Brierley
As well as his on-going stint as Shadow Moon in the now Gaiman and Jesse Alexander showrun American Gods, Whittle will appear in the upcoming Netflix pic Nappily Ever After. Based on Trisha R. Thomas 2000 novel of the same name, the Haifaa Al-Mansour-directed movie starring Lynn Whitfield, Ernie Hudson, Lyrig Bent and Shots Fired alum Sanaa Lathan is expected to be released on the streaming service sometime later this year.
If all goes to plan, Season 2 of American Gods looks likely to debut on the premium cabler early in 2019.
