The U.K.s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.6 percent in July, increasing for the third consecutive month, but it has still only recovered just over half of the output lost due to the coronavirus, the Office of National Statistics (ONS) said Friday.
The U.K.s GDP fell by 7.6 percent in the three months to July as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and in July, monthly GDP was 11.7 percent lower than the pre-COVID levels seen in February.
